The Valley Shore Women’s Club is sponsoring The 3rd Annual Ladies Fry Pan Toss at The Hamburg Fair! Ladies will compete to see who throws a cast iron fry pan the straightest and furthest. The event is open to all women 18 years old and up. Costumes are encouraged to enhance and liven up the competition!
There are five age classes to enter. Ladies from 18-29, 30-49, 50-69, 70-89, 90+. Winners from each age group will win a prize and will move on to compete for the Grand Supreme Fry Pan Queen Title and $250 Cash Prize.
To register for the event, ladies can either Pre-register here before the fair or register in person at the information booth during the fair. All contestants MUST be present and registered in the Ring by 1:55pm on Saturday to compete. The contest starts promptly at 2pm. All contestants must be present to win! Sorry, no last-minute walk in’s will be allowed after the competition begins.
The Hamburg Fair will provide the Lodge 8-inch, 3.2-pound cast iron fry pan for the events. All throws will be underhand throws only. No overhand or Discus-type throwing is allowed. Contestants of each class will be allowed one throw. No practice throw will be allowed. Ladies, we suggest you practice in your own backyard!! The throw must be as straight as possible on the course. The distance thrown off the center of the course will be deducted from the total distance thrown. Contestants crossing the throw foul line will be disqualified. The top three ladies in each class will compete in a second round of elimination to determine the winner of each class. The elimination round will allow ladies to have two throws and the best distance of the two will be taken. The top winners of each class will go on to compete for the $250.00 cash prize. All contestants must sign a release waiver. DECISION OF THE JUDGES WILL BE FINAL! Contestants must be present until the end of the contest for awards to be given.
